What can I not live without?

Recently, I went to visit Jess and Katie and she told me about an item I HAD to register for, called the ultimate crib sheet. It led me to think... what would my other mommy friends advise that I HAVE to buy? So if you have a quick suggestion, what are one or two things that you think I really should register for?

Crib sheet savers are a must!(about $7 each)It is so much easier to throw this into the washer than having to completely change the crib or bassinet.I found these when Jen was pg with Ethan, then I got them for Heather with both Fiona and Gabriel.I also like the Breastflow bottles...baby can't empty it so quickly and definately less need for dribble clean ups.

Hmmm, I would definately say the swing! It is a life saver! When baby doesn't want to stop moving, or just wants "cradled", plus it is a great alternative to the crib. The first swing I had was the very best (w/ Jacquie & Sean)! It had 2 parts, there was a basinette part that hung off the swing. It is really great when they are a bit too little for the swing. They will sleep & sleep in it. Then there is a swing attachment for when they are older. The swing can recline. I don't know if they make one of these anymore, with Joh I had one that could tilt back further & rotated from one direction to the other. One direction reclined & made it more "bedlike". Hmm, perhaps I can find a link to explain.

A "Boppy" is a must. Great to lay them in when they are tiny & great to help them learn to sit up. Plus if they do tip over, it is soft. Also GREAT for nursing.

A bouncy chair. I used to move JOh all around the house & office in his bouncy chair. The one with toys overtop (toy bar) & the vibrating one is also helpful.

At about 4-6 months, snack cups & tippy cups. Huge must. Also the "linking chains". Great to attach "stuff" to car seat, diaper bad, bouncy chair, crib....

Burp rags, for over the shoulder, under the chin, on the lap. Lots of them.

A GOOD diaper bag, huge must. Spend the time to really think it through. The Eddie Bower one is wonderful, I really like the back pack model I had too. Make sure it has enough pockets & is expandible. Remember that even if you don't think you will, you will carry lots of stuff. Extra cloths, burp rags, diapers, binky, bottles with water & that really cool container for formula (also a must), later will be jars of food, changing pad, wipes, bibs, spoon....The cold bag to carry bottles when half finished or breast milk in bottles or for food. Also a great item. It is like a lunch box.

Oh, most of all, "The Fishies". Made by Fisher Price & hangs in the crib. It is an aquarium type thing, the fish "swim around", it plays music & puts images on the ceiling. One of the best, most soothing crib things I ever used. I have bought one for every baby I know. It is wonderful from birth to forever. Joh used his, into his toddler bed. Would still use it but we broke it : (

A good monitor. Spend the money or register for a good one. I had to buy 2 in Joh's time (but of course we used the thing until he was 5, yeah, I'm bad).

Wow, yeah, so many important things. As they progress, there are so many other important things. I guess we can discuss those when you get there.

Oh, if you are going to breast feed, a GOOD breast pump. Again, spend the money on a decent one or it will frustrate the "crap" out of you. Make sure you get at least an electric one, do not try the hand pump, you will get a cramp in your arm.

Okay, I will stop now. I don't want to scare you! I feel confident that you will get spoiled beyond all words.

Love you sis. Wish I was there to help you register! I could do it online with you. lol, call me!

The swing was something that my Friend Martha said was her life saver when belle was little but I would have to say that she told me she could not have lived without her bouncy, My neice is a little bouncing goofball so maybe that is why but Mar said she could not live without it. The other thing she addorded was the snuggley. She said it was amazing so that is my advice as the Aunt who has bought for the Best Friend!
